OUR DRUG POLICY
-
Q
GENERAL
AThe use of illegal drugs is harmful and can have negative consequences for you, your immediate environment,
our organization as well as the relevant security authorities. It is prohibited by law to possess or sell drugs at
Extrema. Any violation of this can lead to criminal prosecution and denial of access to the festival and/or camping
site. Before entering the festival site, visitors are given the opportunity to leave drugs anonymously and without
sanctions in drug deposit boxes at the entrance of both the festival and the camping site. -
Q
QUALITY NIGHTS
ATogether with Quality Nights, a company that provides health services for clubs and dance events, we offer
several free measures to optimize your festival experience:
• Safe transport: avoid driving under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs. Spend the night at our campsite
or at the Extrema Resort, designate a BOB, use public transport or travel to and from the festival with one of our
Party buses.
• Free earplugs are available at the Safe ‘n Sound information stand. Rest in a quiet zone to give yourself and
your ears a break. Do you frequently go to concerts, performances and/or festivals? Consider getting custom
earplugs which are more comfortable and protect your ears better without negatively impacting the sound quality.
• You can get free drinking water at all taps in the toilet areas.
• Free condoms are available at the Safe ‘n Sound information stand. Set your boundaries and respect the
boundaries of others. No means no.
• Try something different: healthy eating & drinking is important to recover. Did you know that every caterer at the
festival also has vegetarian and vegan options?
• Be sensible with alcohol and other drugs. Taste and discover our range of non-alcoholic drinks at the bars.More information can be found on Safe ’N Sound and Quality Nights.
-
Q
NEED HELP?
ADespite all the measures we take and despite your good intentions to deal wisely with intoxicants, accidents can
still happen. If you or one of your friends does not feel well, never hesitate to go to one of the first-aid posts on
the festival site. The Red Cross staff is fully trained, equipped and moreover ready to help you. Tell them
honestly what complaints you are experiencing and what you may have taken so they can help to the best of their ability. -
Q
RULES & PROCEDURES
ACARMA, the local police unit, is present on and around the festival site and checks for possession, use and sale of
illegal drugs. When a festival visitor is found to possess drugs, a procedure of immediate
amicable settlement (OMS) will be used which results in the user paying a fine. Those who are suspected of
dealing drugs are brought before an investigating judge or summoned via summary court.
