  • Q
    Lost & Found

  • Q
    Where is Extrema located?

    A
    • You can find XO on the beautiful grounds of De Plas in Houthalen-Helchteren. The landscape includes deep forests, a clear lake – including a beach – and enough space for numerous exciting areas.
    • Follow the signing when driving to the festival.
  • Q
    What are the opening hours?

    A
    • FRIDAY: 17h00 – 00h00
    • SATURDAY: 12h00 – 00h00
    • SUNDAY: 12h00 – 00h00
    • Afterparty at the campsite (for camping guests only) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 00h00 until 03h00.
  • Q
What happens in case of cancellation?

    A

Although there is absolutely no question of cancellation, we are also aware of possible events beyond our control. We are in close contact with our politicians and strictly follow all the rules. It is important to us that you as an Extrema visitor will never lose your money or your ticket’s value. That’s why in the unlikely case that the Extra edition cannot take place, your ticket will be transferred – of course free of charge – to the 10-year anniversary from 3 to 5 June 2022.

  • Q
    Are there lockers available?

    A

Yes! There will be different sizes of lockers (Small/Medium or Large) available at both the festival entrances and at the camping site. Lockers at the camping site will be provided with electric facilities to charge your phone or other devices. Payments can be done in cash or by card.

  • Q
Will Extrema Extra be different from other editions?

    A

We would like to emphasize that the Extrema Extra edition differs from our usual Extrema festival. Extrema Extra will have 3 stages on Friday, and 6 on Saturday and Sunday. Extrema Extra is a more scalable edition.

  • Q
Is Extrema for young & old?

    A

You can only enter the festival and campsite if you are 18 or older. If you turn 18 years old in 2021 you will still be available to enter the festival. It is possible that our crew will ask for your ID and if you don’t have it with you they will deny you access. So don’t take that risk and make sure to bring your ID.

  • Q
I’m an international visitor flying to Belgium, what do I need to do?

    A
    • You can fly to Brussels Airport (Zaventem). There is an underground train station beneath the airport, take the train to Hasselt. Check the train schedule here: https://www.belgiantrain.be/en/.
    • Once arrived in Hasselt, you can jump on one of our shuttle busses directly to the festival starting from Friday.

Please find all relevant information and possible COVID-19 restrictions at www.info-coronavirus.be/en/.

  • Q
    Lockers

    A

There are plenty of lockers available at the festival, right after the main entrance and at the campsite. Lockers can be paid cash and with your Maestro/MasterCard.

  • Q
    Am I allowed to smoke?

    A

Smoking is allowed but please think about the environment. Don’t throw your cigarettes on the ground but make sure that they are extinguished and throw them in a trashcan or (portable) ashtray.

  • Q
Do you use a code of conduct?

    A

Violence and intimidating behaviour will not be tolerated. This also includes discrimination, sexual intimidation or wearing provocative clothing (for example football shirts or/and full colours). • Q
Can I bring my own drinks?

    A

It is not allowed to bring your own drinks.

  • Q
    First aid, security and medication

    A
    • There will be an adequate security staff at the festival site. There is also a professional first aid stand clearly present at the festival. These people are standby at the festival for you and your friends’ safety. So make sure to listen to any instructions given by the security staff, the first aid team and the organisation.
    • Do you need any medication during the festival? Mail us a few weeks beforehand at [email protected] and send a medical statement or prescription (matching your ID). You’ll receive a confirmation from our side which you can show at the main entrance.
  • Q
Hear the Music, Protect your Ears

    A

Please take care of your ears!

With music above 87 dB it is smart to use earplugs with a special music filter. With these earplugs you can hear the music perfectly, still have a conversation with your friends and most important of all, you prevent hearing damage and any ringing after the event. During Extrema Outdoor Belgium Alpine earplugs will be available. Alpine earplugs are reusable, so you can protect your ears not only at Extrema Outdoor Belgium but on other festivals as well. In addition, Alpine earplugs are super comfortable. Life sounds better with Music.

Our Drug Policy

  • Q
    General information

    A

Despite dissuasive messages and actions, the use of illegal drugs remains a reality at festivals. The use of illegal drugs is nevertheless risky and can have disastrous consequences for both the festival visitors who use it and their immediate environment. We as an organization take our responsibility to let you handle illegal drugs as wisely as possible.

  • Q
    Rave Safe

    A

Partying all the way over the weekend at Extrema Outdoor has an impact on body and mind. If you decide to use illegal drugs: make sure you start well rested, feel good both mentally and physically.

    1. Prepare yourself well for the festival by thoroughly informing yourself about product(s), composition, purity, dosage, effects and risks.
    2. Use only in the presence of friends. Let them know what you use and make good agreements. Keep an eye on each other and take good care of each other.
    3. Determine your dose yourself and do not just take the same dose as others. Body weight and personal factors (metabolism, tolerance, sensitivity) play an important role in the effects you feel. Determine in advance how much you will use and stick to it.
    4. Combining different drugs is an extra risk. Think carefully about combinations and keep in mind that alcohol is also a drug.
    5. Always use discreetly (e.g. in a toilet). Open use is disrespectful and can damage the image of the festival.
    6. Take it easy with booze and drugs. It is best to start with a small dose and then wait a while. You can always increase, not decrease!

The use of illegal drugs is always risky, but it is absolutely not recommended in the case of diabetes, a heart defect, liver and kidney problems, high or low blood pressure, asthma, epilepsy, depression and psychological complaints or in case of (suspected) pregnancy. Inform yourself in advance via www.safensound.be or visit the Safe ‘n Sound information stand on the festival site between Distrikt 5 (main stage) and Distrikt 6.

  • Q
    Stay Healthy

    A

We want nothing more than that you can dance and enjoy the whole weekend. Together with Quality Nights, we offer you all kinds of free measures to optimize your festival experience. Because we care about you 😉

    • Safe transport: avoid driving under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs. Assign a BOB and stick to it, or use public transport.
    • Free earplugs are available at the Safe ‘n Sound booth. Custom earplugs are always better. Occasionally chill out in a zone without loud music to give your ears a rest.
    • Free drinking water can be found at all toilet taps. Drink plenty of water to prevent a hangover, but also to prevent overheating and dehydration. Attention: if you use XTC / MDMA, drink a maximum of 1 glass of water per hour. This is how you prevent water intoxication!
    • Free condoms available at the Safe ‘n Sound information stand. Fairly safe, but also indicate your limits, and take into account the limits of others.
    • Healthy food & drink is important to recover faster, and get enough rest)
    • Rest regularly. You can recharge your batteries in our chill-out zone between Distrikt 5 and 6.
    • Be sensible with alcohol, especially in combination with other drugs. Check our range of non-alcoholic drinks at the bars.
  • Q
    In case you need help

    A

Despite all the measures we take and despite your good intentions to deal wisely with intoxicants, it can still happen that you or a friend do not feel well. Then don’t hesitate to go to the first-aid post on the festival site. The people of the Red Cross are fully equipped to help our festival visitors as best as possible. Have you used illegal drugs? Tell them honestly what you have taken and what complaints you experience. Our medical team will not judge you and will help you to the best of their ability. In addition, they have professional secrecy and personal information (including about drug use) that will not be shared with other services.

  • Q
    Rules & procedures

    A

Although the use of illegal drugs is common at dance events, their possession remains an offence. Police Carma will therefore be present on and around the festival site and will check for possession and use of illegal drugs. In accordance with the festival policy of the Limburg Public Prosecutor’s Office, the procedure of the immediate amicable settlement (OMS) will be started for festival visitors whose possession or use is established. This procedure is as follows:

    1. The illegal drugs are confiscated.
    2. The visitor pays a fine per drug found (cannabis 75€-150€, all other illegal drugs 150-300€). The fine is a maximum of €600 and can be paid immediately via Bancontact. If the fine is paid, there will be no criminal proceedings and the facts will not be recorded on the criminal record.
    3. No OMS (immediate settlement) will be offered for large quantities. Festival-goers suspected of dealing will be brought before an investigating judge or summoned via summary court.
  • Q
    IMPORTANT: Dangerous MDMA

    A

    ! IMPORTANT !

A very dangerous MDMA pill with the ‘Philipp Plein’ logo is found at our festival. Please don’t ever use it! If you have one or see anyone with one, please report it to our crew members. Take care of yourself and everyone around you!
